Full blurb:
London Pub Reviews is a truly unique collection of 44 stories, all set within actual London pubs and which end in some form of disaster. Informative, enlightening and somewhat surreal, the stories follow one man's love of ale and the bizarre experiences he encounters as he enjoys a pint or two around Central, East, North, South and West London and The City. With illustrations by David Le Fleming, London Pub Reviews is a work of fiction.

First page first lines:
From ‘Albert, Victoria’
It has been said that every Prime Minister who has ever served in Britain has been served in the Albert pub, Westminster, and as I stood outside admiring its impressive façade, I hoped that I too would soon be served inside.
Pressing forth through the main front doors, I found myself within a small enclosed entranceway, little more in size than a large telephone box. A further set of doors offered passgare into the main bar itself, but as I moved towards these I suddenly felt my legs go rigid, and my arms were forced down at their sides.

Author: Paul Ewen
Paul Ewen was born in New Zealand in 1972. In 1995, he moved to Asia where he lived and worked for six years, including four years in Saigon. Paul moved to London in 2002. Although wanting to follow the Kiwi tradition of working in English pubs, he was thwarted by a complete and utter lack of social skills, forcing him to write about them instead. His stories have appeared in the British Council's New Writing 13 anthology, 3:AM's Edgier Waters anthology, Tank Magazine, the Times Higher Education Supplement, Scarecrow, Paris Bitter Hearts Pit, and in the forthcoming Offbeat Generation anthology. He lives in South London.

"Good comic writing is notoriously hard to achieve. London Pub Reviews has at least three belly-laughs on every page - more than I can say for any recent novel.." - Time Out
"Paul Ewen is the funniest new writer I have read in years. Join him on his one man Campaign for Surreal Ale." - Toby Litt, novelist.
"This insane book is full of acutely observed details." - Dazed & Confused
"... a surrealist's dream, a landlord's nightmare!" - Steven Hall, author of 'The Raw Shark Texts'
