Mother tongue apparatus tell me what to say
11 Nov 2009
Alan Kelly interviewed me for Bookmunch. For those unfamiliar with the concept of interviews, this involved Mr Kelly, as seasoned interviewer, asking a series of well thought through questions to which I, as interviewee, responded with a series of somewhat flaky, hippyfied answers. So, if you're at a loose end, the interview's now live at Bookmunch in case you wanna read it and join the hippy bashing. Big ta to Pete Wild and Alan Kelly for making this happen.
Bang bang, that awful sound
30 Oct 2009
Lee Rourke, author of Everyday, is guest editor in October at Everyday Genius (ooh, see what they did there), which is part of Publishing Genius. His mission? To commission 22 works of fiction plus a smattering of poetry. And a damn fine job he's done too, with writing from the likes of Peter Wild, Tom McCarthy, Steve Finbow, Heidi James and H P Tinker, to name-check a few. One of my stories is up there an' all. It's called Bang. Can't be bothered to read it? Well, have a watch of this then instead, you slacker!
Dazed & Confused takes on Beat the Dust
18 Nov 2008
British style mag Dazed & Confused has done a mini-feature on Beat the Dust's Lit Jam in the Literature section of its December issue, which is nice of 'em, innit. In the same issue you'll find an interview with Tony O'Neill and a tribute to David Foster Wallace written by Lee Rourke. The mag's nearly four squid a pop though so to read the bit on Beat the Dust, dust off your magnifying glass and go 'ere. And if you're thinking Beat the Dust's sold out and gone all trendy, we an't okay! Too working class for all that nonsense. Good exposure though and in line with our objective to get great underground writing out into the world where it belongs.
